The dissertation is a comprehensive scientific research on theoretical and practical aspects of acquisitive prescription as an ownership acquiring mode. The author conducted a research of developmental history of acquisitive prescription on Ukrainian lands, ascertained its essence, purpose and place in the modern civil law and legislation. The examination of legal nature of prescription enabled the author to make distinction between acquisitive prescription and related civil institutions.
