The dissertation focuses on the realization of consonants in Anglicisms and Gallicisms in the modern German spoken television discourse based on the comparison of read-aloud and prepared speech. Auditory and instrumental analyses of consonant segments in Anglicisms and Gallicisms in the contemporary German TV discourse reveals a specific character of consonants phonetic adaptation to the German pronunciation standard and establishes patterns of phonetic assimilative processes of the borrowed units in the modern German language consonant system.
