The dissertation deals with the studying of psychological factors of the development of teenagers' creativity in the activity of reading poetry at the lessons of foreign literature. In the research general theoretical and methodological backgrounds of the development of teenagers' creativity in the activity of reading poetry at the lessons of foreign literature were worked out. The context of the activity of reading poetry was detailed. The peculiarities of the activity of teenagers by reading them poetry were shown. Two groups of psychological mechanisms of pupils' activity with poetry were proposed. The first group is touched with the mechanisms of pupils' interaction with the pieces of art. They are: a) the mechanism of creative reflection; b) the mechanism of impression; c) the mechanism of retention; d) the mechanism of protention; e) the mechanism of updating. The second group includes the mechanisms of pupils' interaction with poetry. They are: a) the mechanism of syllabic symmetry; b) the mechanism of sound association; c) the mechanism of rhythmic ambiguity; d) the mechanism of semantic expression; e) the mechanism of fono-semantic association. Based on the analysis of scientific literature we formulated psychological conditions of the development of creativity of adolescents in the activity of reading poetry: a) psychological orientation of training teachers on the whole person of the pupil, in his/her motivation, intellectual, emotional, will-power and value-semantic characteristics; b) the creation of academic work enriched with class objects, not strictly regulated, with a lot of variations, creative and communicative, humanistic environment that would provide maximum opportunities for teenagers' freedom of choice; c) the formation of a harmonious personality of the teacher with the system of professionally important qualities (such as a style of communication and teaching, professional level in communication, abilities to emphasy, congruence, the required level of creativity, etc.), which are the background of the creative development of adolescents; d) the organization of innovative learning activity, which includes the active use of social-psychological training and communicative-oriented business games, and e) ensuring coherent of cognitive, motivational, reflexive, operating, value-semantic and morally-spiritual training of adolescents in the process of using a special program with the purpose to develop the creativity of teenagers.
