Object: formation processes of high level of quality and productivity of short-stalked varieties of leek element depending on cultivation technology. Objective: depending the main element on cultivation technology of leek of seedlings and of seeding to the open ground (the time period as feeding area as well), according perspective varieties of research crop in South of Ukraine. The results: Varieties according to early maturation, quality, productivity and storage were identified. There was estimated the optimum nutrition area: at seedling - (100+40) х30 cm and at non-seedling - (100+40) х 25 cm which provide yields of marketable products of 13,6 and 10,0 t/ha, respectively. The most cost efficient were the following varieties: Goliath (293,9 %), Kasimir (237,9 %) and Karetka (195,7 %). Total energy costs per 1 ton of products from these varieties equal to 1930,3, 2258,8 and 2390,6 MJ/ha. The most effective in Southern Ukraine is the seedling method of crop growing with sowing seeds to the holders in the first decade of March, planting of seedlings to the open ground follows the scheme (100+40) х 30 cm (the level of the cost effect constituted 171,9 % and 129,3 %, total energy costs per 1 ton of products - 2755,3 and 3342,8 MJ/ha)
