Fomenko O. Principles of Architectural Environment Formation for Roadside Tourism Complexes in Ukraine

Dissertation is devoted to the patterns of formation and development of architectural environment in roadside tourism complexes (RTCs). The architectural environment of RTCs as a system of interconnected components: "recreational automotive tourist" - "activity" - "environment" is observed to clarify the main characteristics of RTC's as well as to improve their size-area typology. A set of recommendations as to the structural development of differnt types of RTCs, including multiple- vs. -functional and urban vs. suburban is given. The study determines that the development of architectural environment of automotive tourism objects in Ukraine should be carried out on the regional level on the basis of formation of automotive tourism clusters with architectural component which includes RTCs and taking into consideration the principles of: socially responsible city planning; integration with the natural environment; national aesthetics; social adaptability; ecological comfortness and effectiveness. The method of RTC's architectural environment planning and Concept of forming of modern RTCs in Ukraine are worked out.
