Igumnova O. Genesis of Students' Mental States and Their Psychological Correction

The thesis represents a research of genesis of students' negative mental states and their psychological correction. The author suggests a model of students' negative mental states development that considers their interrelations in complexes and introduces the following terms "complexing negative mental state", "complex of negative mental states" and "types of negative mental state complexes". The author proves that the states of anxiety, frustration, aggression and rigidity have a complex nature. 16 types of negative mental state complexes are defined, their structural organization is analyzed. The author studies peculiarities of demonstration of students' individual psychological qualities in complexes of negative states and analyzes the interrelations of these qualities with negative mental states of high level. The obtained empirical data let the author develop a programme of correction of negative mental states and define didactic and psychological components of the programme. Efficiency of the programme was proved experimentally.
