Essay

The work is based on examination of 90 reproductive age polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) women with and without metabolic syndrome. We proved the feasibility of identifying cardiovascular risk factors and early markers of atherosclerosis: inhibition of the brachial artery endothelium-dependent flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD) and increased carotid intima-media thickness values compared to age normogram for reproductive age PCOS women. We investigated the possibility of cardiovascular risk factors and FMD correction and normalization by pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy in PCOS women, especially during pregravid preparation.
