Polishchuk O. Improving the efficiency of outdoor lighting systems in streets and city highways

The object of research: processes in lighting installations of outdoor lighting. Purpose: improvement of the efficiency of lighting installations through the use of LED and sodium arc lamps in the system of outdoor lighting. Methods of research: methods of integral calculation; methods based on fundamental principles of lighting, electrical technology and geometric optics. There were developed: new power scheme for LEDs, operating on alternating current; electrical scheme for high pressure sodium lamps that allows to perform "hot start" of lamps. There were integrated: practical recommendations, made on the basis of dissertation research, were integrated in LLC "Energoservis" , Kharkiv City, in Municipal Enterprise of electrical networks of outdoor lighting "Misksvitlo"of Kharkiv City Council. Field of application: production of light sources, design and exploitation of lighting systems.
