Mazur S. Language features of canonical texts of Tenrikyo religion (based on "Ofudesaki").

The thesis is dedicated to the comprehensive linguistic study of the text of the major canonical work of the Tenrikyo religion "Ofudesaki" as an important source of the Japanese language of the second half of the nineteenth century, when after the Meiji Revolution (1868) with the joint efforts of linguists, writers and cultural luminaries of those times the modern Japanese literary and colloquial language forms were formed and encoded. The thesis defines linguistic, linguocultural, and culturological value of "Ofudesaki"; describes the structure and contents of the work; studies its onomasticon and term system, and also clarifies the ways and means of their formation; exposes language and stylistic peculiarities of "Ofudesaki" text; defines and describes verbal means of suggestive influence of the text on the prospective audience; singles out typological features of the Kansai dialect and the Nara Prefecture dialect, which were reflected in the language of "Ofudesaki"; exposes and analyzes colloquial and popular elements in the vocabulary of this religious work.
