The thesis research is dealing with complex study of peculiarities in speech activity development in children with autistic spectrum disorders in senior preschool age. An experimental study of peculiarities of speech activity in children with autistic spectrum disorders in senior preschool age has been performed. The components (content-richness, motivation and initiative), criteria and indicators of speech activity have been defined. It also has been proven that all children of senior preschool age with autistic spectrum disorders exhibit peculiarities in speech activity development of varying intensity. Psychological and pedagogical preconditions for special educational approach towards speech activity development of autistic children have been substantiated. The teaching method for developing speech activity in children with autistic spectrum disorders in senior preschool age has been presented. Effectiveness of speech activity development techniques has been experimentally proven. The research proves positive dynamics in speech activity development in autistic children providing that specifically organised, purposeful, consistent and systematic special educational work based on the proposed teaching method is being implemented.
