Organizational and methodological conditions of the design skills formation of 5-9 grades pupils in the process of household subjects studying have been theoretically grounded and experimentally examined. The structure of design skills (analytical (logical), projective and predictive abilities), and factors influencing the above-mentioned skills formation has been defined. The criteria were developed and levels of pupils' artistic and design skills formation in the process of household subjects studying were defined. The structural and functional model of artistic and design skills formation of 5-9 grades pupils in the process of household subjects studying has been proposed in the thesis. Its composed elements have been defined: target, methodological, theoretical, normative, practical and effective components. The complex of innovative and organizational forms, interactive methods for household lessons has been grounded.
