Poltava K. Criminological characteristics and prevention of transport-related crimes, connected with human death or grave injury infliction, in Ukraine

The thesis deals with the criminological characteristics of transport-related offenses, connected with human death or grave injury. The historical aspect of criminal legal protection for traffic safety and operation of transport vehicles in Ukraine has been considered. The criminological basis for transport-related crimes classificational separation has been provided and the characteristics of person, who has committed a transport-related offence, have been defined. The specificity of the causes and conditions of transport-related crimes committing has been defined. The role of gender and victimological aspects in the mechanism of crime determination has been clarified. General social and special criminological methods of above-mentioned crimes prevention, including individual and victimological prophylaxis have been analyzed. The thesis contains the synthesized experience of EU countries and USA of transport-related crimes counteraction with the aim of implementing similar preventive means in Ukraine.
