Essay

Object of study - psoriasis. The purpose of research - to improve the efficiency of treatment of psoriasis using acarbose by studying leptin-dependent mechanisms of pathogenesis in women with hyperleptinemia and overweight. Research methods: general, biochemical, immunoenzyme, cultural, experimental, statistical. Thesis deals with the peculiarities of formation of leptin-associated imbalance of cytokine homeostasis in patients with psoriasis and combined hyperleptinemia and overweight. Psoriasis course in patients with obesity is characterized by development of carbohydrate metabolism disturbances. Essential dynamics of nutritional status as well as carbohydrate and lipid metabolism are not marked at psoriasis treatment without systemic therapy of obesity. Inclusion of acarbose into the complex therapy of psoriasis in patients with overweight enables significant reduction of systemic hyperleptinemia and levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor - alpha and interleukin-1beta, lower lymphocytes (white blood cells)-mediated activation of pro-inflammatory cytokines synthesis by keratinocytes, and reduction of imbalances in carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.
