Essay

The object is alter-globalism as movement against neo-liberal version of globalization. The aim is the comprehensive analysis of neoliberal globalization aftermath in Latin America, which led to the emergence and created favorable environment for the development of alter-globalism the important factor of which, that have its own civilizational grounds, was "left turn" in the countries of the region. The methods are world-systems analysis and civilizational approach; institutional, comparative, historical, structural and functional, content-analysis, typology and integrated assessment, graphic modeling. The thesis contains comprehensive research of alter-globalism in Latin America, which manifested the "left turn" as a way to overcome the social expenses of neoliberal globalization in the region. The process of globalization is considered to be a set of objective and subjective activities in the modern system of international relations. The last are being used as a tool to promote the interests of the global economic center. One of the key characteristics of the Latin American alter-globalism is determined by the high inclusion of the political forces and the official governments, which defend the left-oriented value. The result of the research shows us the civilizational distinctive features of the region as the main precondition for the "left turn", and the results of neoliberal transformations appeal its causes. Application spheres are Ukraine's foreign policy, national strategy of Ukraine's development, training courses.
