Essay

The object - the diary texts of A. Blok, I. Bunin, Y. Nagibin, M. Prishvin and K. Chukovskiy. The purpose - the analysis of the functioning of literary portraits in diary prose, the revealing of interdependent internal connections between documentary-artistic forms of diary and literary portrait. Methods - a system approach; historical- literary, comparative-typological and biographical methods. In the thesis the principles of creation, typology and the peculiarities of the functioning of literary portraits in the diary texts of A. Blok, I. Bunin, Y. Nagibin, M. Prishvin and K. Chukovskiy are regarded. The internal connections between literary portrait and diary form of narration are defined and on this basis the existence of two sections for analysis in diary prose - macroportrait and microportrait was grounded. The inner typology of these sections was revealed and there were observed the structure, the character, the ways of functioning and the genre peculiarities of external and internal (psychological) microportraits (and exactly "creative" (literary-critical) and of "every day life" ones) in the diary prose of A. Blok, I. Bunin, Y. Nagibin, M. Prishvin and K. Chukovskiy against the background of the following macroportraits: macroportraits of nation, generalized portraits of politicians and government personnel, macroportraits of family and collective portraits of members of creative groups. The field - educational process.
