Shytyi S. Education Management Bodies of the Ukrainian People's Republic of the Ukrainian Central Rada Period (March 1917-April 1918)

The dissertation is devoted to the organization, formation, development, and functioning of higher governing bodies of public education in Ukraine during the national democratic revolution (1917-1921) The study identified specific features of the national education system during the Ukrainian Central Rada. The analysis have not previously studied archival materials by developing the conceptual foundations of public education and the formation of educational policy, the preparation of teacher training for Ukrainian schools as part of the activities of the education department of UNR day UCR. A number of regulations that perpetuated the functioning of the educational department and the education system as a whole was analyzed. A special place occupies the problem of funding and logistical support for educational institutions. The author covers the activities of authorities who controlled and coordinated network of Ukrainian educational institutions. The thesis argues that the establishment of a new public education in Ukraine (1917-1918) was a national matter and that such an approach to the development of national schools contributed to the development of Ukraine as a civilized European country.
