Kudrіavskiy I. The political component of ensuring competitiveness of modern Ukraine.

The thesis focuses on the political component of ensuring competitiveness of modern Ukraine. It is significant for ensuring competitiveness to regard the process of creating, developing, and maintaining competitive advantage as a combination of political, economic, social and cultural factors. Among them is the use of political and social capital as complex structural and functional phenomenon that can be characterized by interaction of political, economic, and humanitarian components. The essence of the concept of competitiveness includes political and economic as well as social and psychological components. They complement the content of this concept, understood as state's ability for independent political development and successful economic competition for increase social benefits, welfare and safety of the citizens. In addition, the peculiarities of the process of strengthening and weakening the country's competitiveness during the periods of political change include multi-party system with simultaneous existence of many political parties with diverse ideological positions that, in case of severe political competition among them, entangles the situation of balanced and rational political decision-making as well as complicates the overall process of improving the state competitiveness. Under the present circumstances the process of Ukraine's competitiveness development is spontaneous. It can be seen from lack of clarity or even complete absence of goals that would consolidate political organizations and the society as a whole; it is also determined that the leading role in this process is played by the information sector, political parties and their leaders. In addition, the necessity of integration of Ukraine into the world community as the main political factor of increasing competitiveness is substantiated, the advantages and disadvantages of Ukraine's accession to the World Trade Organization - a political tool of interaction of states as political entities - are presented.
