Research is devoted to the study of pathological changes in brain cortex in experimental stroke of different etiology and pathogenesis and their pharmacocorrection. In study proposed a model of recurrent stroke in rats and mice: a unilateral chronic occlusion of the common carotid artery, and after 10 days modeling autohemorrhagic stroke in the ipsilateral hemisphere relative to the occluded vessel. For a quantitative analysis of changes in the brain and assess pharmacocorrection determined following morphometric parameters: the average area of pericarion and the nucleus of neurons, density of neurons. Occlusion of the common carotid artery in the ipsilateral hemisphere recorded focal necrosis, and swelling of brain tissue in the cortex and corpus callosum. In hemorrhagic stroke, acute swelling of the brain tissue is accompanied by severe neurodegeneration and gliosis around the hematoma, in recurrent stroke - structural changes are more pronounced. At experimental study investigated the pharmacological effects of drugs of amino acids and peptides in recurrent stroke. It was found that in the primary hemorrhagic stroke drugs (cerebral, cerebrolysin, cortexin) have protective effects on neurodegeneration in the ipsi- and contralateral hemisphere; in recurrent stroke - pharmacocorrection not effective in all schemes, due acute cerebral edema. The pharmacological activity of cerebral in combined using with verapamil more effective than their isolated use. Calcium channel blockers increases the effect of peptide drug cerebral and, as a consequence, can be used as a combination correction of neurodegenerative disorders in stroke.
