Essay

The thesis is devoted to the important problem of modern literary criticism - a phenomenon of Russian literature abroad of the "first wave", which has already taken its place in Russian and world literature. Despite nearly thirty years studying of this phenomenon, there are still a lot of research gaps, including literary emigration in Czechoslovakia. The focus of this work is the writer's contribution of Chirikov E.N. (1864-1932), the prominent figures of Russian cultural emigration ("diaspora") in Czechoslovakia. To analyze the identity of the writer's legacy of E. H Chirikov while the period of emigration, were selected such main works as "Smerdyakov of Russian Revolution", "Beast from the Abyss," "Native House." They help us to trace how the writer came from conviction of Bolshevik-Leninists to repentance on behalf of the intelligentsia, by choosing Orthodoxy and the preaching of Christian values.
