Essay

This research is devoted to the comparative analysis of common theories, models and systems of local self-government worldwide. The thesis explores genesis and evolution of key local self-government theories implemented through models and systems of local self-government. Modern state of local se-lf-government is presented, complete with its key challenges, gaps and trends. A list of anti-crisis improvements, reform leads and local self-government upgrades for the existing system in Ukraine is produced as an outcome of this research, considering European integration processes, undergoing in our country.
