The dissertation work is devoted to the analysis of the right of private ownership of an apartment in an apartment building. The thesis examines the legal definition of «apartment», «apartment building». The historical and lawful analysis of the formation and development of the right of ownership of an apartment, based on the analysis of the international and national legislation of Ukraine, was made. The participants of the right of ownership of an apartment were defined. The special features of the apartment owner’s powers in an apartment building were defined, their rights and responsibilities were characterized. The exercise of the right of ownership of the common property in an apartment building was revealed.
