Essay

The research is based on the clinical and instrumental examination of 134 women with arterial hypertension and metabolic syndrome who formed 4 groups according to thyroid function. The correlation of subclinical hypothyroidism with hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis markers was found. It was also established that women with hypertension, metabolic syndrome and subclinical hypothyroidism have higher cardiovascular risk compared with women without thyroid dysfunction. The expediency of determining the thickness of intima-media and ankle-brachial index in the stratification of cardiovascular risk using SCORE scale in women with hypertension and metabolic syndrome on the background of subclinical hypothyroidism was proved. It increases the percentage of patients with high and very high risk from 36.4 % to 75.7 %.
