The thesis deals with civil legal regulation of relations connected with the death of an individual. The death is researched as a legal category. The concepts, the types and the stages of death as well as their meaning in the civil law were analyzed. There were illustrated the meaning of individual death as a legal fact that gives rise to alteration and to termination of the civil relationship.
