Kavulia E. Clinical and pathogenetic peculiarities of dyscirculatory encephalopathy in patients with atrial fibrillation

New data pertaining to specific characteristics of the clinical course of dyscirculatory encephalopathy combined with atrial fibrillation, particularly changes of lipid methabolism indices, condition of prо- and antioxidant system, fibrinolysis-proteolysis system, Glial fibrillary acidic protein level, have been obtained in the research on the basis of holiatry of 85 patients with dyscirculatory encephalopathy using clinical, psychodiagnostic, biochemical, instrumental and statistic methods. It has been established a correlation between indices of cerebral circulation rate and heart ejection fraction. New therapeutic approaches as to a complex treatment of patients with dyscirculatory encephalopathy combined with atrial fibrillation have been suggested: application of mexidol, the derivative of succinic acid, against a background of a basic treatment according to standards.
