Khalikov R. Forms and results of the rationalization of religious traditions

The dissertation identifies and analyses the main forms of rationalization of religious traditions, as well as the results these forms lead to. The main result of the rationalization, in fact, is the formation of the religious traditions as social phenomenon, because rationalization allows us to transfer the subjective religious experience into the intersubjective plane. The dissertation investigates three forms of rationalization of religious traditions - unification and the fixation of the canon, systematization and fixation of the doctrine, as well as the formation of the social hierarchy. On the basis of the connection of phenomenological and comparative approaches the specific manifestations of the three forms of rationalization in the history of religious traditions can be traced, their essential invariant features are concluded, as well as situational features, caused by the peculiarities of the cultural background. The analysis of the essential features allows us to build a model of the rationalization and the integral theory of religion, taking into account the important role of religious experience, but the subject of this theory is rationalized objectification of this experience.
