Essay

This thesis is devoted to increasing the effectiveness of the surgical treatment of complex forms of acute calculous cholecystitis using new methods of surgery, including the use of ultrasonic scalpel. This work is based on the results of treatment of 2928 patients with calculous cholecystitis. It proves that in complex cases, when performing laparoscopic cholecystectomy, use of ultrasonic scalpel is appropriate and recommended. Results of the study show that in cases, with high likelihood of bile duct injury, laparoscopic subtotal cholecystectomy may represent the best surgical approach.
