Essay

The bio-ecological conditions and the processes of geochemical migration of the elements contribute to the formation of black soils on the island. Тhe chernozems of the island are diagnosed as undeveloped and shortprofiled. Genetically these soils are characterised with low content of carbonates, stoniness, acidity, alkalinity, unusually high humus content, and the agile NPK particles. In the areas where dense rocks are closely allocated to the surface the primitive soils are formed. Nomenclature list of soil and soil combinations on soil island map of 1:2000 is composed of 12 items.
