Essay

Work is devoted to conceptualizing features of sacral and chthonic concepts in dramatic poetic language of late XIX - early XX centuries. Taking into consideration the new trends, approaches and techniques in modern linguistics for the recent decades, there are clarified such key concepts as "concept", "worldview", "sphere of concepts" and others. In particular, the concept means lingvo-mental value (dynamic and permanent at the same time), which reflects retrospections of a certain ethnic group and represents the author's worldview. Sacral and chthonic concept is qualified as lingual materialized and context dependent mental unit that has accumulated ethnocultural and evaluative information, and also as one that is related to the semantics of the concept's name. It is a concept we consider the basic unit of the conceptual worldview modelling. The set of concepts, united together by a thematic feature, is defined as a sphere of concepts, and the set of sacral and chthonic concepts - as a sphere of sacral and chthonic concepts.
