Essay

Dissertation is devoted to studying the peculiarities of influence of occlusal relationships disorders on the course of chronic generalized periodontitis in early stages of the disease. It is revealed that all patients with chronic generalized periodontitis in the initial stage have complaints related primarily to periodontal status. Study of occlusal relationships revealed in all patients premature contacts leading to non-axial loads on the tooth root, which in its turn can be the cause of exacerbation of generalized periodontitis. Resorption of interalveolar partitions to a depth of 6 mm was found in the area of premature contacts localization. A method for study of occlusal relationships using Fuji Prescale Pressure Measuring System (Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., Japan) measuring tapes and T-Scan III (Tekscan Inc., USA) system that allows revealing occlusal dysfunction even during preclinical stages of the process was proposed. Comparative assessment of effectiveness of different premature contacts diagnostics methods was carried out. It was found that the accuracy of traditional diagnostic method using articulation paper is only 35 %, while using computer diagnostic system - 100 %. It was proved by clinical studies that the application of computer systems for premature contacts diagnostics and their timely correction prolongs the stage of remission of generalized periodontitis after its complex treatment.
