Essay

The thesis presents a research of Natalena Koroleva's works in terms of binary opposition central / marginal, due to which the new levels of marginal are distinguished and the writer's biography and works are read in a new way. Natalena Koroleva's biography is the main object to demonstrate the levels of marginal which have not spoken about before. Her works are intensifying the dialogue between binary parts and the border. The mother's death during childbirth, abandonment by her father, permanent migrations, violation of adaptation and later the art became the basis that was significantly marginalizing the author and her work. The most important aspect of the writer's life is her Spanish noble origin and further choice to remain in the history as a Ukrainian writer. In the theoretical part we demonstrate in the chronological order the evolution of binary opposition and the margin from structuralism (Ferdinand de Saussure, Claude L?vi-Strauss, Roman Jakobson) to poststructuralism (Jacques Derrida, Roland Barthes, Michel Foucault , Edward Said, Julia Kristeva). Almost all Natalena Koroleva's works are considered, a particular attentions is paid to the narratives "Rootless", "Quid est Veritas?" ("What is the Truth?"), collection of short stories "Another World" and "In those days" as they contain the brightest subject of our research.
