Essay

In the course of this study, impact of physico-chemical factors on humic substances rejection rate was assayed for combined inline coagulation and ultrafiltration water treatment technology. A number of criteria were established to help select optimal type of membrane with respect to resistance to irreversible fouling in the process of removal of humic substances from water. Mechanism of removal of humic substances from raw water by in-line coagulation and ultrafiltration was elucidated. Combined technology of in-line coagulation and ultrafiltration was developed, tested and implemented for purification of raw water from humic substances. Compared to other methods, 45-50% decreased cost of water purification without ecological harm can be accomplished by application of this technology. Keywords: ultrafiltration, coagulation, humic compounds, aluminum penta-hydroxychloride, "inline", natural organic matters, natural water
