Essay

In the research the interpretation of the term concept is presented as a complex of necessary and sufficient components (features) for identifying the object, criterias for distribution of these characteristics between the core and the periphery in the concept are defined; functions of verbalizators (nominative, cognitive, notional-creative, accumulative, emotive, axiological, inspiring, creative, aesthetic) are established; common and authorial means of verbal expression of concepts earth and sky in poetic texts are described.Based on the actual material it is proved that the analyzed concepts in poetry are presented by four groups of features: motivational, imaginative, value-evaluative and conceptual. The motivational feature of the concept earth is embodied in the meaning "earthen surface, the plane on which we walk". The imaginative features include features of animate and inanimate nature. The features of inanimate nature cover the features of elements, of object (natural - stone, flint, minerals - and artefact - building, household implements, books, musical instruments, metal, construction and machine and their elements) and food (bread, honey). The features of animate nature cover fitomorphic (shape, properties, symbolic content), animalistic (turtle, fox, eagles, jackdaw) and antropomrphic (somatic, physical, physiological, gender, characteristic) features. From somatyzms poets often use words breasts and lips. Among the physiological features differentiate four: growth, crying, breathing and sleep. The gender status of earth is a woman, mother. The physical features include sound characteristics, movement and sensory action. The nature of the earth poets present as mental form, personality orientation and emotional traits. The conceptual features denominates six meanings of the word earth: country, region, state (22%), the planet (18%), the upper layer of the crust (16%), soil (14%), dark brown substance, land (some cases of verbalization). The value-evaluative features confirm that poets often appeal to concept earth.
