Knysh O. Language pleonasm in the Ukrainian fiction text at the beginning of the 21st century: semantic, syntactic and stylistic aspects.

The thesis is devoted to the research of pleonasm in Ukrainian fiction text at the beginning of the 21st century. The pleonasm as a realization of linguistic redundancy law, based upon semantic, structural and syntactic identity or similarity of language units in the text, functions not only as verbal excess, but also as a source of expressive linguistic means.Semantic, containing duplication due to semantic coincidence or convergence of words, phrases or predicative units within the text, and semantic-structural pleonasm, involving the structural identity of elements, are characterized. Realization of pleonastic structures at different syntactic levels is analyzed. Stylistic features of pleonasm in literary text are distinguished.
