Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the development of bovine viral diarrhea molecular-genetic monitoring tools and their introduction into laboratory practice and biotechnological control. The plasmids with insertion fragment of Erns gene of bovine viral diarrhea virus genotype I and II were constructed. The possibility of their use as a positive control for genotyping BVDV aimed for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was proved. The diagnostic kit aimed for the simultaneous detection of BVDV RNA and Mollicutes DNA "Bovi-Multi-Test-Myc-BVDV" and the methods for genotyping of BVDV by PCR were designed, certified by Ukraine patent for utility model and formed the basis for two guidelines. BVDV was found in farms of several Ukraine regions, 2711 samples of veterinary immunobiological preparations and bioteechnological raw materials were investigated by the developed techniques. Monitoring of cattle persistently infected with bovine viral diarrhea virus by molecular-genetic and serological methods was carried out for the first time in the countries of the former USSR area. Based on phylogenetic studies of Ukrainian isolates of bovine viral diarrhea virus their relationship with other viruses isolated worlwide were defined.
