Goal is the development of theoretical and methodological, practical and scientific bases for machine-building enterprise's competitive stability in a permanent environmental changes that are determined by the transformation processes of Ukraine's economy. Methods- systematic and abstract-logical analysis, content analysis, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, generalization and comparison, graphical methods, scaling method, taxonomic method, economic modeling, cluster analysis. Results- improved: the management theoretical basis ofenterprise's competitive stability as an economic process; methodical approach to assessing the level of sustainability of competitive machine-building companies,that is based on the definition of the integral index competitive stability machine-building companies as functional components depending on competitiveness and sustainability; systematization of methods for assessing the competitive stability.
