Pasko I. MychailoOrest's Poetical Creativity in the Context of Modernism

The thesis deals with the research of MychailoOrest's poetry in the context of modernism. The problem is argued to be not investigated enough in native science, despite the existence of a few researches devoted to the poet's creativity. In the dissertation MychailoOrest's poetry is investigated as a literature of "high" modernism. This problem is researched in two aspects: on the level of the world model represented in poet's creativity and in the aspect of intertextuality as a sign of a modernistic intellectualism and elitism of MychailoOrest's poetry. Temporal and space dimensions of world model and its word-centrism are investigated, the features of modernism are designated. The opposition of nature and human society are researched as a reason of world catastrophism in the context of the crisis word-view of "high" modernism. The functions of intertextual elements are analyzed, especially mottos and the "traditional" images in the context of neoclassical conception of the "conservative modernization" of literature. The orientalism of MychailoOrest's poetry as a sign of the modernistic intellectualism of his creativity are also investigated.
