Essay

Research subject: the combination of economic relations which arise during the processes of income formation, distribution and redistribution. A research objective: justification of methodological foundation of learning the contents, the structure, types and trends of income inequality in a market economy; identifying directions for reducing unproductive inequality. Research methods: historical approach and comparative analysis, economic and statistical analysis, economic and mathematical modeling, institutional analysis. Results and novelty: the essence of institutional imperfection of the income regulation system in the transformation economy and its implementations, is defined for the first time; the justification of the notion of income inequality institutionalisation is improved, as well as the theoretical approach to income inequality structuring, and the theoretical understanding of the risks of excessive income inequality; the ideas about the contradictions in the assessment of income distribution inequality and number of poor people are further elaborated; the characteristics of the content and the structure of income inequality in Ukraine; justification of the content of social threats to economic development, which arise from unproductive (excessive) income inequality. Use sphere: research and teaching work, practical activities of the state economic regulatory agencies.
