The thesis provides systemic analysis of the internal structure of terms denoting legal concepts in modern Chinese language (MCL), studies their structural and semantic features, formation of terms and their typical models; describes systemic and non-systemic semantic phenomena of the MCL legal terminology; proposes classification of synonymic and antonymic patterns; and defines the semantic structure of the analyzed linguistic units combined in the semantic field. The author builds a complex poly-hierarchical scheme of the hyponymic derivative terms of the hyperonym "document" with various affix morphemes and bases for 1329 terminological units. The author has described the schemes of derivative hyponymic terms for the hyperonyms "person" (1,444 terms), "institution" (566 terms) and "property" (138 terms) as well. As a result, the necessity of research was substantiated and an inverse vocabulary with reverse sorting for 16,000 legal terms of the MCL based on "Chinese-Russian Law Dictionary" was developed. This made it possible to obtain objective conclusions regarding the structure and semantics of the legal terms of the MCL. In addition, the author has developed and elaborated the method of calculating the degree (measure) of a lexical units' terminologicality may be applied to other types of professional texts. Morphemes of the text based on "The Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China".
