Smetanina N. Theoretical notion of crime in postsoviet criminology.

The thesis is devoted to a study of theoretical and practical issues of definition of crime in modern criminology. In the work historical experience of the definition of crime in Soviet criminology is analyzed and modern methodological approaches to the study of crime are considered. The author systematized the basic definitions of crime, set the scope of its cognition, and provided criminological classification of crime manifestations. On the basis of conducted analysis the information model of crime in modern criminology is introduced. In the thesis proposals as to improvement of the notion of crime, criminological classification of crime manifestations and quantitative and qualitative characteristics of crime and of its "price" are put forward.
