Khalinovska L. Ukrainian aviation terminology: formation, structure and development.

Thesis investigates the formation of the Ukrainian aviation terminology, determines main reasons, sources and tendencies of its development. The main thematic groups of aviation terms are singled out; paradigmatic relations between them at the present stage of term-system development are analyzed. The main system phenomena are characterized: hypero-hyponymy, synonymy and antonymy, their peculiarities are explored. It is determined the methods of creation of the Ukrainian aviation terms, their productivity, the typical syntactic models of term-word-combinations formation are set. The important value of borrowins in modern term-fund of the Ukrainian aviation terminology is substantiated, their usage for creating new terminological names is analyzed.
