Essay

The thesis focuses on studying left ventricular (LV) diastolic function in hypertensive patients, predictors of its progression during long-term period and correcting disturbances of LV diastolic function by using antihypertensive drugs. Predictors of deterioration of LV diastolic function are: baseline diastolic night-time blood pressure (BP), baseline 24-h systolic BP index, increasing concentricity of LV, increasing of stimulated plasma insulin concentration during 10 years, baseline of stimulated glucose level and age.
