The dissertation is the first attempt to study the directions of literary search in the Petersburg text of contemporary Russian poetry. The purpose of this study is to detect and examine the main trends in transformation and modification of the Petersburg text in the poetry of Gennady Grigoriev, Igor Vishnevetsky, Polina Barskova and Yuriy Shevchuk. This dissertation also outlines the key features of the Leningrad text and analyzes its inner system ties with the Petersburg text. The evolution of the Petersburg text is furthermore discussed and scrutinized in correlation with the multipolar quality of the esthetic quest in contemporary literature.
