Object: refusal utterances that are used in Ukrainian dialogical discourse of fiction. Objective: to describe communicative and pragmatic, semantic and pragmatic features of refusal utterances in Ukrainian dialogical discourse. Methods: method of discourse analysis; contextually - interpretative method and components of oppositional, transactional and conversational analysis. Scientific novelty: complex description of refusal utterances in Ukrainian dialogical discourse on the basis of communicative pragmatic, cognitive, semantic and pragmatic. Practical significance: the ability of using obtained results in courses of contemporary Ukrainian language, studying communicative linguistics, psycholinguistics, semantics and pragmatics of communication and theory of dialogical discourse.
