Essay

This thesis is devoted to determination of the Italian secular costume of the XV-XVI centuries and its place in development of modern European fashion design. The illustrative-chronological matrixes of Italian costume were developed in the context of regional variability (Venice, Tuscany, Lombardy, the Papal States) and held its morphological analysis. The author firstly introduced into scientific circulation a hypothesis about the origin, semantic and the true purpose of renaissance jewelry zibellino. The authentic textile designs of the Italian Renaissance were investigated. First the multivariate cluster analysis of the original color samples of secular dress (male and female) and textile interior elements was done for the purpose of establishing the level of a color relationship of the objects. Results of cluster analysis are represented graphically in schematic form, also it was provided a scientific explanation the dependences. There were investigated stylistic manifestations of the Italian Renaissance style in modern haute couture and pret-a-porter catwalk collections, photo shoots, periodicals and at the exhibition space of Modern Art and the Renaissance festival movement.
