Dubovich O. Criminological characteristic and crime prevention of homeless persons in Ukraine

The dissertation is devoted to criminological analysis of crime of homeless persons in order to form corresponding characteristic of criminal acts of this kind and to develop theoretically substantiated and practical means to prevent those. The essence was revealed and social legal evaluation made of the phenomenon of homelessness and its manifestations in historical aspect and at the present stage of Ukrainian society development. Determination of level, structure and dynamics of homeless crime permitted to outline the peculiarities of such crimes. A comprehensive characteristic was given to personality of a homeless criminal, thus enabling proposed typology of such criminals, which is important to development of a system of prevention of crimes by such persons. Determination peculiarities of this type of crime were outlined, including seen via prism of social attitude to the problem of homelessness and of crime committed by homeless citizens. A set of steps was proposed how to prevent crimes by homeless persons and foreign experience generalized in limitation of the phenomenon of homelessness in general and of prevention of corresponding crimes, in particular.
