Klymkin V. Criminological principles of preventing penitentiary violent crime in Ukraine.

The thesis is focused on the complex research of criminological principles of violent penitentiary crime prevention in Ukraine within modern criminological system. Criminological principles of violent penitentiary crime prevention are defined as following. The understanding of violent penitentiary crime in the context of personal approach, and the definitions of violent and penitentiary crimes as subtypes of crime are suggested and substantiated. The criminological characteristic of violent penitentiary crime in the context of penitentiary crime in Ukraine is presented. The thesis analyses quantitative and qualitative indicators of this type of criminality, and proposes the understanding of causal complex of violent penitentiary crime. Key problems concerning functioning of the subjects of prevention violent penitentiary crime prevention in the places of detention are defined in the conjunction with an appropriate set of functions that rely on them. The thesis also analyses features of prevention of this type of crime in some foreign countries, which criminological systems are of particular interest to Ukraine. On the basis of research results the prospective ways of improvement of preventive activities concerning violent penitentiary crime at present stage in Ukraine are suggested.
