This dissertation focuses on revealing cognitive ways, communicative and pragmatic properties of linguistic means for modeling knowledge in English lecture discourse. It is assumed that principles of structural organization of linguistic lecture such as accentuation of the basic conceptual issues of the lecture content, examplification, argumentation and concretization, contrasting, summing up are related to cognitive ways of structuring and systemic presentation of various types of knowledge verbalized in lecture texts as well as predetermining the choice of communicative and pragmatic properties of linguistic means. It has been proved that discursive markers of lecture discourse construing influence the knowledge modeling and ensure the communicative and pragmatic effect on the addressee in conveying the intention of the addresser - knowledge acquisition.
