Kuznetsov V. Prophylaxis of postoperative infectious inflammatory complications in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

The results of the study are based on the analysis of surgical treatment of 1585 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia for 2003 - 2012.The elaborated program of complex prophylactics against postoperative IIC presumes measures at the pre-, intra- and postoperative periods. The personified approach is ensured by taking the risk factor into consideration, the unified one - by the created formulation of antibacterial preparations. Its implementation allowed more than twice to decrease their number (to 11.9± 3.1% against 25.2± 4.5%; p< 0.05), to shorten almost three times the preoperative bed-day (to 1.2 and 0.9 in case of prostatectomy and TURP against 3.4 and 2.5, respectively), to shorten 1.5 times the stay in hospital (5.1± 0.8% and 10.3±1.2 days against 7.9±1.9 and 13.5±1.8 days, respectively; p<0.05), to shorten 1.5 times the term of temporary disability. The index and coefficient of efficacy were 2.1 and 52.8%, respectively.
