This dissertation is devoted to the theoretical justification and experimental studies of vortex flows, the improvement of hydrodynamics calculation methods of the vortex atomizing countercurrent mass transfer units, and recommendations for the design and selection of the parameters of such devices. Physical and mathematical models explain the processes of counter-movement formation in the working section of the vortex mass transfer vortex chamber of the spray countercurrent mass transfer apparatus. The hydrodynamic characteristics of the various modes of operation of the atomizing vortex countercurrent mass-transfer device were experimentally studied in order to create stability conditions of the vortex atomizing countercurrent mass-transfer apparatus. The influence of the operation modes of the atomizing vortex countercurrent mass transfer apparatus on the drop entrainment intensity and its impact on the performance of the atomizing vortex countercurrent mass-transfer apparatus are being studied. Theoretical calculations have been confirmed by experimental results. A mathematical model is applicable for modeling persistent counter motion of vortex flows of gas and liquid droplets along the radius of the vortex mass transfer camera. The engineering practice of designing atomizing countercurrent mass-transfer apparatus has been developed. The obtained research results are introduced into the academic process at the Department "The Processes and Equipment of Chemical and Refining Industries" of Sumy State University and at the Department "Refining Processes and Devices" of Baghdad University of Technology.
