Essay

The main object of this thesis is the benchmarking implementation as a management technology of the mechanical-engineering enterprises. The main purpose of the research is to rationale for the theoretical items; develop the scientific, methodological and applied recommendations concerning enterprise management by using benchmarking. The results have been obtained through the following methods: historical and economic, systematic and comparative methods, comparative analysis, grouping, economic and statistical analysis, exponential smoothing method, questioning, summarizing, structural and logical modeling, matrix method, multifactor and system-structural analysis. The theoretical value of this thesis is to highlight the essence, purpose and main tasks of benchmarking; to study its classification and types; to consider the theoretical aspects and benchmarking models, and study the world practice of using benchmarking. The scientific novelty lies in the rationale for theoretical issues and developing the applied recommendations to management of the mechanical-engineering enterprises by using benchmarking. The theoretical, organizational, methodological and practical issues to management of the mechanical-engineering enterprises on the basis of benchmarking have been examined. The practical significance of our research results is to use them by the managers and economists while implementing benchmarking as the best management practice of the mechanical-engineering enterprises in order to enhance their competitiveness. The application scope of authors’ recommendations is the domestic mechanical-engineering enterprises and universities.
